Frequently Asked Questions

1/ What do you do exactly?

As a professional organizer, I help you identify and meet your goals for refreshing a space in your home that may be causing you stress.

Put simply, I work with you to create peace and order in your space. I can accomplish this by working together with you to clarify your goals, help you choose what “stuff” you want to keep, and then organize it in a way that is effective and can be easily maintained by you and your household. Oftentimes, our lives become so busy that we simply don’t have the time or energy to bring order into our homes. A Professional Organizer can provide the support you need to declutter and create a system to keep your space organized

2/ Why do I need a professional organizer?

If any of these questions ring true to you, hiring a professional organizer can definitely help!

1. Is my family or I often late to school or work due to searching for misplaced items?

2. Am I frustrated every time I open a closet, drawer, garage, etc...?

3. Do I often end up purchasing repeat items because I can't find the original?

4. Is my free-time constantly spent trying to clean up, catch up on chores, or tidy my house?

5. Are certain parts of my house unusable due to it being covered with stuff? For example can you work at your desk, eat at your table, sleep on your bed, sit on your chair, etc.. or are these buried in clutter rendering them unusable?

6. Are your closets, store rooms, drawers, etc.. overloaded with stuff?

7. Are you paying late and/or overdraft fees on a regular basis due to misplaced paperwork and bills?

8. Are you unable to pursue a personal passion, project, or hobby because the clutter and stuff in your life is holding you back?

9. Is an area of your home causing you stress and/or anxiety, and you feel helplessly overwhelmed?

10. Are you getting older and need to downsize but don't know where to begin?

11. Are you (like so many of us) so busy with work and family activities that you simply don't have the time to tackle organizing projects?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions it may be time to reach out for help! If we are spending all our free moments dealing with clutter we are wasting precious time, energy, and money on stuff instead of our family, friends, and hobbies.

3/ How do I get started?
  1. Call, text, or email me to set up a phone consultation.

  3. We’ll have either an in-person or virtual consultation where we talk about my process and what your goals are for your space.

  4. We’ll make a plan and schedule your first organizing session.

4/ How much do you charge?

I believe our homes should be places of refreshment that give us energy, not take it away. Picture your space as one that is tidy, organized, and beautiful. Consider the peace of mind and relief this image gives you. Giving yourself this peace of mind is worth every penny.

5/ How can you help me?

Is your playroom constantly a mess? I can help you declutter unnecessary toys and come up with a system that makes cleaning up a snap!

Feeling stressed and overwhelmed with all the stuff in your house, garage, closet, fill in the blank?

I can help you prioritize what things are necessary and declutter the rest.

Are you constantly misplacing important items and running late?

I can help you problem solve and build household routines and systems so that your days run smoothly.

I want to help you transform your space so that it is not only functional but is aesthetically pleasing, restful and rejuvenating! I’m all about being realistic. I want to do what works for you, your budget, and your family! I firmly believe you don’t have to become a minimalist, Marie Kondo your socks, or donate it all to Goodwill to get organized. Sometimes it just takes getting a bit of help and an outside perspective!

6/ What is your process? Will you make me throw my stuff away?!

Put simply it is a 3 step process I refer to as ASP.

A- Assess and identify your goals for the space; form a plan.

S- Sort items into categories.

P- Put items back in a systematic way that will be easily maintained by you and your household.

Assess- The “Assess” step involves evaluating and analyzing the space you want organized. I don’t just come in and start sorting your stuff; I want to know what is and isn't working for you, what your needs and goals are, and what goals you have  for your space so you can focus on what stuff is actually needed in that space.

Next we make a plan. I want to work with you to figure out a plan that you are comfortable with and works for you.

Sort- The second step is the hard part! This is when I will help you make decisions (if necessary) about what you want to keep, and the things you may need to let go of.

Put Away- Then comes the fun part for organizing nerds like me!  We get to come up with innovative solutions for how to put all your things back in an orderly, systematic way, so that it can be easily maintained by you and your household.

Lastly, CELEBRATE, you get to sit back, relax and relish having a beautiful, stress-free space!

P.S.  NO, I won't make you throw you all your stuff away!

My goal is to help you clarify your top priorities so that you only keep the things that you love and get rid of anything that is interfering with those priorities.

7/ Why did you become a professional organizer?

First and foremost, I love to help people and make a difference in their lives. After being a stay-at-home-mom for 10 years I was ready to find something to do outside the home that could not only put my skills to use but also help others. Along the way, I went through my own personal decluttering process. I had a lot of stuff that I couldn’t let go of because of guilt, sentimentality, and unmet expectations. After working through a lot of those feelings AND getting rid of the stuff, I now had the physical and mental space to have a lightbulb moment.
